Foraging for Wild Food and Medicine @ Essex Environmental Center

Fee - $35

Advance registration is required; call[masked]

Join Dan for an insightful walk around the land to demystify the “wall of green” surrounding us. He will teach you to identify many plants revered in the herbal traditions for healing ailments, as well as how to forage for nutritious wild food directly from the land. We will sample the wild plant wonders Nature guides us to, and focus on methods to use and prepare them. Gain the skills and confidence necessary to utilize the countless organic, fresh, local and free plant resources Nature continually provides.

Bring a camera and notebook for recording the plants we find.

I might not be able to make it to this one. I am on a tight budget. Are any of these gatherings ever gonna be held a little closer to the middle town, Cornwall, or new Windsor?? Anywhere a little closer up state would make it easier for me driving wise thanks.

Hey Dan, thanks for replying. I have never set up any kind of meetups or anything. i have never been on any wild food walks either, And i am kinda new to social media stuff as well. But i could try setting something up. If not i will just drive to one of your gatherings. I have been interested in wild food for a while now. I've been foraging what i could find solo using books. I did not think there was anyone in my area that thought like me, or cared about wild food. But now i would like to learn from and expert so i can expand my knowledge. So i hope to meet you one day, and thanks for your time, take care.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
