Meet John Stossel at Stony Brook University!

Join us for John Stossel's engaging talk, "Freedom and Its Enemies" and book signing.

Best selling author, host of Fox Business Network's "Stossel", and anchor of ABC News’ 20/20, Mr. Stossel will explain how government agencies, trial lawyers, and the media stifle creativity in the marketplace. He will explain how free markets do more to protect the average American than all the bureaucrats in Washington. Question and Answer session will follow.

About John Stossel

John Stossel joined Fox Business Network (FBN) in 2009. He hosts “Stossel,” a weekly program highlighting current consumer issues with a libertarian viewpoint, which debuted on December 10, 2009. His first shows covered health care, global warming, the novel Atlas Shrugged, “food police”, and the Road to Serfdom. Stossel also appears regularly on Fox News Channel (FNC) providing signature analysis.

Stossel has received 19 Emmy Awards and been honored five times for excellence in consumer reporting by the National Press Club. Other honors include the George Polk Award for Outstanding Local Reporting and the GeorgeFoster Peabody Award. The Dallas Morning News named him the "the most consistently thought- provoking TV reporter of our time" and the Orlando Sentinel said he "has the gift for entertaining while saying something profound."

Prior to joining FBN, Stossel co-anchored ABC’s primetimenewsmagazine show, 20/20. There he contributed in-depth special reports and recurring segments on a variety of consumer topics, from pop culture to government and business.

His John Stossel specials asked tough questions facing Americans today. Sick in America delved into the debate between private vs. government health care. Stupid in America exposed the government school monopoly. John Stossel Goes to Washington revealed government growth under both parties, while Hype exposed media distortions.

Stossel’s economic programs have been adapted into teaching kits by a non-profit organization, Stossel in the Classroom. High school teachers in most American public schools now use the videos to help educate their students on economics and economic freedom. They are seen by more than 12 million students every year.

John Stossel was his typical self. Nothing new, but rather entertaining.
Great venue to get signatures for the Town of Brookhaven proposal on Cuomo's draconian gun law (NY Safe Act of 2013 - which is an attack on the U.S. Constitution's 2nd Amendment) which I did.
The College Republicans sponsored this appearance and their executive board members were given contact info for speakers from SCLP and also to possibly be guests on Bruce Martin's radio show on WUSB.
A local Tea Party representative asked for informantion on SCLP meetings and was given that information.
Stossel indentified himself numerous times as a "libertarian."
    A worthwhile event.
