Colorado Secular Conference

The Second Annual Colorado Secular Conference is in Denver, Colorado! For the most up to date information and to purchase tickets, visit

Following up on the immensely successful Colorado Secular Conference held in Grand Junction, Colorado last year by the Humanists Doing Good; this year the Secular Hub, in conjunction with many local atheist/secular/skeptic/humanist/etc. groups (see below!) are putting on another one-day conference.

This year we are focusing our morning sessions on the threat of divisive fundamentalist religion infiltrating our public schools. If you have not heard about the Good News Club and their plans to specifically target Denver, you need to get informed about their agenda and methods and find out what you can do about it! Kathryn Stewart, the author of The Good News Club: The Christian Right’s Stealth Assault on America’s Children, will speak about her chilling research and first hand experience with this organization. Other speakers will inform us about the legalities of this kind of use of our public schools and some of the ramifications.

In the afternoon, we will be joined by Elizabeth Cornwell, the Executive Director of the Richard Dawkins Foundation. Later, Seth Andrews, host of the Thinking Atheist will speak about his new book, DEcoverted: a journey from religion to reason. Local speakers covering topics on building the secular community, climate change science, and more will round out a full day of exciting discussions!

In addition, vendors and exhibitors will be available with information and merchandise for the secularly minded! We will have options for lunch delivered on site or there are many fine restaurants within a short distance.

This year's conference is the result of many local groups working together to provide a unique opportunity for our community. Get your tickets early as seating will be limited! For more information, please visit the official Colorado Secular Conference website or use the comments on meetup.
