A very picturesque and popular hike in the Superstition Wilderness. We start from First Water trailhead and hike a loop using the Dutchman Trail, Second Water and Black Mesa Trail. There are good views of Battleship Mountain, Geronima Head, Weaver's Needle, as well as a varied terrain with diverse plant life. The grades are generally moderate, although there is an accumulative number of "up and down" portions of the trail.

We had 11 hikers enjoy this hike through the beautiful Superstition Wilderness. We could not believe that amount of green vegetation that has sprouted due to the recent rains. The washes were also running, which is not something that you see very often. Thanks to those hikers who joined me for a great hike in great weather.

Please do not get confused, because there are two hikes on Monday. This is the regularly scheduled hike meeting at 6:45 a.m. The other hike is a make up for a rainout and is meeting at 7:30 a.m.
