Beautiful scenery and great companions. Weather was about perfect.

It is a "rough" trail - it has a lot of pea-gravel on the slopes and a fair amount of over-growth on the trail. However, we had a great group of hikers on the hike.

Long pants and long sleeves are highly recommended for the BALLANTINE hike! Check the bottom of your boots: you will need good tread since the trail has several steep sections of "pea" gravel which rolls underfoot.
