Don't feel ready for the longer hikes we do? Want to build up your endurance? Curious to know what a comfortable pace is for you? Come out and stretch your legs in this beautiful local park!
You can do it!
Everyone is welcome.
Al Lopez Park is a city park, therefore no fees!
Located just north of the Bucs Stadium on Himes Avenue, this park is made up of approximately 132 acres of Florida wildlife, offering an enjoyable view. If it isn't the land that sparks your interest, it will be the ponds. There are two ponds that fall within the boundaries of the park. The northern pond offers fishing, and some have said that the fishing is what sets Al Lopez Park aside from other parks.
The footpath is varied, from mostly paved, to dirt, to a lovely boardwalk. We will walk along the lakes, among the playgrounds, past the fenced dog park, and more. There are many opportunities to shorten or lengthen your walk by choosing the inner or outer or combination of loops.
Start your week out right - be a Walking Fool!
