I would be interested, but who would hike for two days over Easter? Those kind od distances, I have to hike at least 4 days! Maybe an other time. Regards.     Josef Augustin

Hi, Everyone.

The cool weather conducive to backpacking is almost at an end (or should be). A couple of spots came open for a backpacking trip this weekend with another meetup group. I have backpacked with this group several times. It's a good group. My car's in the shop, so I'm trying to find someone willing to drive. I'll share expenses. Contact me as soon as you can while the spots are still open. Below is the description from the meetup. We meet at 8am Saturday. If you want to drive there Friday, there is camping at Rodman Campground for around $13/night. That is where we plan to leave the cars. Daily parking is $3.11.

This is a section of the FT that I haven't done, so it will be an adventure for everyone.  We will be hiking the Goldhead/Etonia section of the FT, maps 17 &  18.  We will meet at 8 am on Saturday at the Buckman Locks (Rodman Dam) and then shuttle to the Holloway Rd Trailhead.  Saturday we will hike 13.5 miles to an established camp site.  There will be 3.5 miles along SR 100 and another 3 miles along rural roads.  The remaining 12 miles on Sunday will be along mostly forest roads and about 4 miles of trail.

Note: The section along SR 100 is on a trail that parallels the highway.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Wes C
