SLUG - Pinellas

The first hour of the meeting is set aside for free-form discussion, with a presentation in the second hour.

Please contact us if you are interested in giving a presentation or would like to request/suggest a presentation topic.

After the meeting, we usually go out to eat at a local restaurant, voted on by the interested parties.

Many people bring laptops and projects they are working on. Some people just bring themselves. Meeting room has chairs and tables (though the library is sometimes lacking in table space). We have power and usually wireless internet. We have a projector that is available for presentations. No food or drink is permitted in the library meeting rooms.

Excellent member turnout! Dylan had a brief rant about pkill, then discussed his apache compile script, and gave a brief overview of some ssh features.

At the meeting someone asked for home-dir source install script I wrote. Here's a link to it on my github: https://github.com/dylanwh/dylan/blob/master/bin/build-app

I have a few things I'd like to see if anyone is involved with or knowledge of:

    1. Apache Cassandra
    2. Riak
    3. Openstack - Nova

Also, if there is anyone in the area hiring for System/Network Administrators, contacts in the area, etc. I know several of us are looking for work and this time of year is dead. Any assistance is appreciated.

Great Tampa meetup last week. Glad to see everyone again!

Anybody up for a discussion about possibly contributing to a project as a group?
