George Kish, author of the new book, "Native Florida Plants for Drought and Salt Tolerant Landscaping" will be our guest speaker this Wednesday, at 7PM at the Hillsborough County Extension Office.
George is an exotic transplant who escaped from cultivation and has become naturalized in the former Pine Flatwoods near Citrus Park. He earned a BS degree in Biology from Drexel University and a MS degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University. George recently retired from the US Geological Survey in Tampa and currently teaches science courses at Polk State College and St Petersburg College. He is the past President of the Suncoast chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society and a past Director-at-Large of the state FNPS. He is a co-author of the second edition of "The Right Native Plants for Dry Places".
