Wildflowers, naturally! June Meeting of SNPS

"Wildflowers, Naturally!" Suncoast Native Plant Society Monthly Meeting.

Whether you already have a native wildflower garden, or you are interested in starting one, you will want to listen to Lisa Roberts, Executive Director of the Florida Wildflower Foundation (FWF) speak about a variety of FWF programs designed to celebrate native wildflower gardens and illustrate a unique way to create beautiful corridors that sustain wildlife and pollinators.

From the State Wildflower license plate to roadside plantings and education grants, FWF is making a difference in Florida. They are an important partner of the Florida Native Plant Society(FNPS), as the FWF is very successful in showcasing the beauty of native plants and creating a wide public support for planting native wildflowers in public and private landscapes. More native wildflowers also mean more butterflies and other pollinators, further enriching the purpose and beauty of our gardens. Lisa will be there to answer your questions about the FWF programs and will be giving out some of their great handouts on growing wildflowers and attracting wildlife. FWF has several events throughout the year including the Wildflower Symposium which will be Sept. 19-20, 2014 at Bok Tower Gardens. For more information about FWF and their programs and a wealth of information--from where to see wildflowers to research project results-- visit their website.
