Hillsborough Hackathon

For the first time ever, Hillsborough County is opening up data from numerous departments to Tampa Bay’s technology community and is offering prizes for the best apps built on top of the data.

Powered by County-provided data, Hillsborough Hack-A-Thon participants will flex their creative spirit and build applications that can benefit the community. The Hillsborough Hack-A-Thon is open to all college students and community designers and developers. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate the potential impact of open data and technological development on the economic prosperity of our community. Online registration for participants is open now and runs through Thursday, April 4. You can register here http://hackhillsborough.eventbrite.com/ and visit the website here http://www.hackhillsborough.com/

there wasn't a real "meetup" to speak of so this is not a knock against the group. the hackathon was not well organized, the mission was confused and the objectives seemed to shift in the middle.

Is this going to be an IOS team or just single people finding teams when you arrive?

Not 100% sure but you probably could get a few people together before hand if you have an idea.

Glad to be a co-Sponsor of this first opportunity to free up public data which hopefully will spur on new applications to impact the region.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
