Do you have an open mind--open to the possibility that you may be wrong about something?

What is truth? It gets pretty murky these days with anyone being able to find data that supports their position on the Inet. I try to be aware of "confirmation bias".

Are you willing to have your beliefs and ideas challenged; and to challenge ours?

Uh, yes. But let's face it. None of us are too willing to change what we know to be the "truth" at this stage of life.

Are you familiar with some basic logical fallacies? If not, please do an Internet search and learn about them.

Will have to research that.

How did you hear about the Suncoast Skeptics?

Searching for Sarasota Meetups.

Hi There. Born in Philly and moved here from Chicago 4 years ago. My motto? You can do it all....just not at the same time. A sometimes skeptic but not a cynic.

What Ava is saying about this Meetup Group

It's interesting that almost everyone there came to skepticism from an overbearing religious background. Religious skepticism is but one thing people can be skeptical about. I want to see if future meetings deal with non-religious issues too - political, power, science, medicine, social mores etc.
