The Zig-Zag Trail

San Diego
Pioneer Poetry Slam!

Journey back in time to experience San Diego in the early 1900s, through the eyes of a pioneer woman.

The Zig-Zag Trail” is a collection of poetry written by Lorena Catherine Harden that traces her journey from a child growing up on the prairie to San Diego, where she became an outspoken proponent of justice and human rights.

The story is told in poetry with vintage photography, and presented by her great-granddaughter, Claire Condra.

Another successful and enjoyable SA for SD. Good songs, great presentations, excellent MCing by Kim and Jeff. Brendan and the Hospitality crew were nicely organized (again). Claire, you could make a poetry lover out of me. Beautiful! Ben Gage's "Best Moment" was fun and heartwarming.

A few folks requested the text of the reading - glad you enjoyed it. I've put it on my blog and linked here, as well as the video that went along with it. Great seeing everyone!

So that Sunday Assembly has an easier time getting a head-count I'll point everybody to the website here.

Be sure to get your dates out to the other secular groups and that they post them. I've been having to search to find when the next dates are. Thanks.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
