Mad Housers

Mad Housers is an Atlanta organization that provides minimalist shelters for homeless people. At this time of year with unpredictable cold snaps, shelters are of vital importance.
We will meet at Mad Housers' facility to construct panels that will later be assembled to create shelters on-site. For this build, we will not be interacting with homeless people directly, nor visiting locations where homeless people live. However, our work will directly benefit homeless people by providing the parts Mad Housers needs to build shelters.
Please RSVP so that we can pass an accurate head-count to Mad Housers.
Thank you for your interest in helping to provide shelter for homeless people!

** Meet at the garage behind the house. The people who live in the house are not affiliated with Mad Housers. **

A note from Kurt Haas, Build Leader:

"We have plenty of tools, but if someone has a favorite hammer, then they can feel free to bring it.  Please have everyone wear long pants and sturdy shoes (no open toed shoes).  Our “warehouse” is behind a house, so there isn’t a large parking lot, but there is a field across the street that we use for parking.  My white Jeep will be in the driveway of the house to help you know that you are in the right place.  For breakfast, we provide bagels, donuts, and coffee, and we’ll order pizza or something for lunch.

There is a covered work area should we have any rain, although we might have to cancel if there is torrential rain because of a drainage problem that we are working to resolve.  Do you have a mobile number I can use to reach you on Saturday morning just in case?  I don’t think that the 30% chance forecast of rain is anything to worry about, but one never knows.

I’m looking forward to meeting you guys on Saturday!"

** On the unlikely chance of cancellation, I will post a comment on the Meetup event. **

Not to be a pest but clicking on "map" above shows a house at the address listed. MH website says "#B" is a garage apt behind the house (where they are) & to not bother peeps living in the house. Might be helpful to know that.

Sounds like a greatroject but I have another commitment at the same time. I am looking forward to working on another service project with SA soon.
