Help Often: Volunteer with Concrete Jungle

It’s time to help often again!

This month, we will be helping with an organization called Concrete Jungle, a non-profit driven to community service projects around the city, including tree planting and saving fruit for homeless shelters.

Since the work depends on what’s needed, we will know more as the project comes closer. However, we will be working outside, so volunteers should wear closed toed 'work' shoes that can get dirty, long pants and should bring water bottles, hats and sunscreen.

Concrete Jungle will bring a large water cooler for re-fills of water. The location will have an outhouse-like 'composting toilet' and the creek for bio-breaks.

We will arrive at 9:45am to get signed in and start working at 10am. The farm on which we’ll be working is Doghead Farm (1117 Birch Street Southwest, Atlanta, GA 30310). We will work until 12pm.

Parking is available on the street.

Please RSVP only once on Facebook OR Meetup for an accurate head count. Bring whoever you’d like!

We look forward to seeing you there!

This was terrific. Thank you, SAA, for introducing me to such neat helping-others opportunities.

When you get here, you will see a bunch of cars on the side of the road. Come see us where you see all the people!

Don't forget to be prepared: wear closed toed 'work' shoes that can get dirty, long pants and bring water bottles, hats and sunscreen.

Check in with me when you get there!

May I show up earlier? Y'all know I don't mind hot and sweaty, I do mind risking heat illness:) Can someone from Concrete Jungle be there say 8 am to direct my efforts?

They'll have gourmet hot dogs for $5 for lunch, bring cash if you want, we'll be working up an appetite, friends!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
