Amy P., One of the members of the Humanist Association of Connecticut's meetup group sent this request:
"Are you an atheist who has undergone a change in religious belief (from Protestant religious belief to atheism)?
I am a licensed social worker (LMSW) and PhD Candidate at Stony Brook University - School of Social Welfare. At this time I am recruiting volunteers for my dissertation.
The purpose of this study is to identify the conditions under which individuals who have had religious identity and beliefs, rejected both and underwent a transformation and became atheist. This study will hopefully offer a better understanding of the deconversion experience of atheists.
Interviews will be conducted via Skype or in person. Participation is voluntary and takes approximately 1 hour.
If you are interested please contact me and I will forward a consent form which has more information. Please note that your participation and information will be kept confidential. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Thank you in advance for your support!
