December Assembly: Transformation

After Sanderson's whirlwind 40 Dates and 40 Nights Global Tour at the Powerhouse, Sunday Assembly Brisbane will be moving to its more permanent home at Ashgrove State School Hall.

So please join us as we Live Better, Help Often and Wonder More, and celebrate this month's theme: Transformation!

Sharing her story will be our very special guest speaker, Madina Zulpukharova, Acting Executive Manager for Dress For Success Brisbane.

For those who don't know, Dress For Success is a global not-for-profit organisation offering services designed to help disadvantaged women find jobs and remain employed.
The mission of Dress for Success is to “promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life." (Visit dressforsuccess.org/brisbane for more info.)

As we get closer to the date, we'll keep you updated on what else is planned for the December Assembly. So please keep checking back on the MeetUp and FaceBook pages.

We look forward to seeing familiar faces and making new connections.

Great Sunday gathering yesterday, with a good turnout.

The venue was suited to the flavour of our gathering, and great speakers and music were valuable ingredients. I happen to share Hamish's particular area of interest expressed briefly towards the end, and would be keen to see that explored and be part of that.

A huge thanks to 'the Crew' who have brought things thus far, and a delight to see an absence of egos and instead a focus on service. Nice to make several new acquaintances, and even a few fellow escapees from my own fundamentalist religious background. It was that fellowshipping I missed the night of the formal launch, so it was nice to connect yesterday.

I look forward to January meetup. BTW, is the second Sunday of the month the 'official' pattern for assemblies?

I'd like to say Thank You to The Crew for all their effort in getting the Brisbane Sunday Assembly off the ground. There seems to be a lot of people that have thought about doing something like this but it takes a team like The Crew to put the action in and bring it into reality. The band were great and I met a lot of lovely people today. It was awesome to see genuine people having a go at the different roles in the program regardless of whether they were nervous, new to public speaking etc. I'm sure it gave people confidence that if they had a go that they would be accepted whatever happened.

Sorry I won't be able to make it as too busy cooking for lunch. See you in the new year.
