Join us for our monthly Sunday Assembly! Once a month we get together to celebrate life, socialize, build community, and learn how to Live Better, Help Often, and Wonder More. Our assembly schedule (below) has something for everyone!
Welcoming Activity: Our host, Matt McCrorey, will lead us in an opening "ice breaker" activity to start things off.
The Sunday Assembly Band: Will lead us in some awesome songs. Old and new tunes will be played, and everyone is encouraged to let their voices be heard! Each month they pick a selection of songs to inspire wonder and connection. And by popular demand, the Cheers theme song, "Where Everybody Knows Your Name," will open the assembly!
Reading: Creative Writer Whittier Strong will share a reading of one of his original works.
Assembly Talk: Our main speaker this month is our own Jen Knight. Jen will discuss the importance of play in the animal kingdom, and the importance and benefits of outdoor recreation for humans.
Jen is a passionate naturalist, with a degree from the University of Florida in Wildlife Ecology & Conservation, specializing in education. She recently moved here from Florida with her husband, dog, and snake. She is also expecting to add to her family very soon, with a baby on the way!
“X” is doing his/her Best: Will share with us about a time he/she did his best, and what he/she learned in the process.
Meeting your Neighbors: We are intentional about community learning, laughing, and "doing" life together. This is a good time to meet new friends and catch up with old ones.
Closing Remarks: Host Matt McCrorey, will present a short message that wraps up our meeting. The band leads a final song and then we are free for cookies, coffee, and friendly discussions!
