FIRST ANNUAL 1950's RETRO UKULELE TRAIN SURVEYWe are gauging (ha!) interest for our First Annual 1950's Retro Uke Train. Details are at the bottom of the page.

If you might be interested, please email by April 30 using the link after the details. Feel free to ask questions and offer comments. Your email in no way commits you to participation.

(Oh, and the website mentioned in the graphic below is not yet active.)

Overview: We are looking at several trip options. The trip mentioned here is but one example. In general, we are assembling a weekend trip in California that will allow you to ride with us one or both ways, with meals, workshops, strolling entertainment, and lots of group jams. We will rent two large, vintage railroad cars with room for about 70 participants each direction.

This Particular Trip Option: Choose a one way or round trip ukulele adventure originating in Los Angeles, traveling to Oakland and back. You can board at either end for one way travel or choose round trip from L.A. Each leg will take 9-10 hours and includes meals. For round trippers or people flying home the next day from Oakland there will be a group rate hotel option. Travel between train stations and airports on both ends is very convenient.

The Train Cars: We will have private use of a 1949 Club Lounge Car and a 1956 Vista Dome Lounge-Dining Car. The cars in the graphics above are the actual cars.

Possible Dates: A weekend this coming October or early November that does not conflict with other California ukulele events.

Cost: One way $298 per person including meals on train. Round trip $498 per person including meals on train. Hotel and travel to/from train stations are additional. Prices are subject to change but we are confident that these prices will hold.

Ukulele activities: Headliner level instructor/performers conducting workshops both directions and giving strolling performances. Lots of group jamming that will rotate throughout the cars so that everyone may experience all areas of these incredible vintage railcars.

Dress the part? Not required, but vintage 50's attire would be great fun.

IF YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED in this type of event, please email me here with your name, city/town of residence, and any other comments or questions. We want you to be involved with creating this very cool ukulele adventure!
