Kayak in Sunset Beach

TIME FOR THIS PADDLE HAS CHANGED TO 2 PM Departure!!!

Sorry I overlooked booking another very large group for the morning

Andy

OEX Sunset Beach

Spring has sprung! Daylight savings has begun and that means more fun in the sun. it's time to enjoy all that nature has to offer and find some inner peace.. Sometimes we need to stop and smell the four leaf clovers! Maybe find that pot-o-gold as we take time for ourselves, relax and make the most of every breath we take in the tranquil canals of Huntington Harbor. Maybe we'll even find a Leprechaun under the bridge!

We are a friendly group of adventurers who enjoy the outdoors, love to exercise and experience our fabulous coastal water communities and safe harbors. This is a very diverse group with some paddling off alone and with small groups, as well as the main body of paddlers staying together.

We offer a safe way to introduce all ages to kayaking at a very affordable group rental rate. There are single and double kayaks available. Life jackets, seats and paddles are provided. After checking out the kayaks, simply walk to the waters edge and sit down and paddle out through the light traffic canals.

If you own a kayak, just show up and participate at no cost. Discounted rental of $10 includes: kayak, seat, paddle and life jacket, as well as basic paddling technique, upon request. You are allowed out for up to 2 hours.

**The weather in this season is very unpredictable, so dress in layers, be ready to sit back, paddle, breath in our fresh ocean air and enjoy what nature has to offer. If enough interested in having lunch after, we can set it up when there.

wow, who knew the afternoon would be such a great time to kayak? It was beautiful and this large group of fun kayakers did terrific, even when their organizer got them all on the water and 15 minutes later caught up with them, due to the fact there were no more kayaks. LOL They were headed just the way I told them to go. Smart group. Lots of fun today everyone. Thanks. Hope to see all of you at another one.

Hello fellow kayakers. I am happy that the time change actually makes it so I can attend. On Saturday mornings I have Tai Chi Chuan at Cerritos College which makes the morning events difficult. I will bring my own kayak so don't save one for me. Looking forward to it. See you there.

i am not sure how this works ?? since u r saying, you overbooked it -- does this mean that everyone who is signed up will have a kayak of their own ?? OR do we have to wait for our turn ?

    March 20, 2013

    • kalpa

hi Elaine: Thank You for organizing this and your prompt response. Do we have an idea as to when we will be done (Since i have a prior evening engagement). The cost of a single person kayak is $10 -- for how many minutes/hours ? Thank You.

      March 21, 2013

    • Elaine

Kalpa, We paddle appx. 2 hours and yes, it is $10. Anyone is welcome to leave at any time, no pressure, no worries. This is quite low key and just for one's enjoyment.
