Join us at Spectacular Red Rock Canyon Beginner Hike with Gary at 6:00 PM

~ Please read entire post ~

~ We will meet on lawn by (starbucks) parking lot near trail head ~

Everyone can hike at their own pace, We are dedicated to taking beginner to intermediate level hikes while watching the sunset in OC, If you are a fast hiker be ready to adjust your pace to allow for slower hikers to catch up with the group. We will regroup at all trail junctures, (No hiker will be left behind.)

This is an out and back 4.7 mile hike. The trail is relatively flat throughout the hike. We will begin on the Borrego trail and view gigantic live oak along the way. Mustard Road will take us to the Red Rock Canyon trail where we will soon reach our destination. Red Rock Canyon has been referred to as "The Grand Canyon of Orange County".

Hike Time: This hike will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow for parking and introductions. The hike will take approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete, depending on the group's pace. There is a restroom at the trailhead.

Rating: Beginner

Recommendations: Two bottles of water and/or other fluids, a snack, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and trail shoes.

Directions: From 5 fwy, take Bake Parkway exit, go 5 miles north toward the hills. When you get to the hills, turn left on Portola and next signal is Market. Turn right and you can park at the trailhead at end of Market. You will need to pay $3 at this location. If you choose to park at the Ralph's market, please use the stalls furthest from the front door as a courtesy to the customers.

Note: Please, no smoking of any kind on our hikes. We are always hiking in areas where fires are easily started by sparks and ash. In addition, we want to enjoy the clean air and beauty of our surroundings. Thank you for understanding.

If the hike is too long and there is a good turn around at about 1.3 miles. I plan to be slow moving so I hope you can make it the whole way with me. :)
