Barbara's Lake Loop @ Woods End (Beg./Adv. Beg.)

Let's take a Scenic Stress Free hike to Barbara's Lake !

ABOUT THIS HIKE: The James Dilley Greenbelt Preserve is part of the Laguna Coast Wilderness. The trail system is made up of utility dirt roads. 

We will enter at the Woods End Access up a steep short hill on the Ridgetop Fire rd. Our route will take us along the shoreline of Barbara's Lake which is the larger of the two naturally formed lakes in the OC. This lollipop loop doubles as the Bea Whittlesly Loop self-guiding nature trail. After enloying The Lake View, we will continue on the Lake trail to the James Dilley parking lot (porta potty avail.) then get on the Canyon Trail & accend up the Blackjack Trail "Short but Steep" to our starting point @ Wood's End & back to our car's at Hummingbird Park.

Hike time: 6:00 PM Sharp

Sunset time:  7:35 PM

Distance: 4-5 miles

Duration: 1.5-2 hrs.

Ability Level: This hike is for Beginner/Adv. Beg. level hikers that are able to hike on uneven, rough, rocky terrain with some steep hills

Dificulity: Easy - Moderate

Elev. g/l:[masked] ft.

Recommend: Bring water to hydrate.  There are bathrooms before we begin in the park.

Everyone can hike at their own pace, We are dedicated to taking beginner to intermediate level hikes while watching the sunset in OC, If you are a fast hiker, that's fine. If you are a slower hiker, that's fine too. We will regroup at all trail junctures, (No hiker will be left behind.)


Directions:

From 405/5 North or South bound, Take El Toro towards Beach & Turn Left on Aliso Creek rd. & take the 1st. right on Hummingbird lane & park on street.

From 73 North or South bound, Take El Toro towards mountains & turn Right on Aliso Creek rd. & take the 1st. right on Hummingbird lane & park on street.

We will meet @ Hummingbird Park on (Corner of Aliso Creek rd. & Hummingbird Ln.) Hummingbird Ln Aliso Viejo, CA 92656
