Let's Hike Serrano Trail

Let's go back to the East side of Whiting Ranch, and do Serrano Road to Serrano Cow trail to Whiting Road and Sleepy Hollow - then we'll loop back on Santiago Ranch Road and Sage Scrub  I'm guessing it'll be about 4 miles

Also, keep in mind that these are multi-use trails, so we share the trails with mountain bikers. Most of them are as considerate as we are, so as long as we keep our eyes and ears open and give them room, things should be fine... we just gotta pay attention, and hope that they do, too..

Update: - Please note that as it warms, we need to keep our eyes open for rattlesnakes. Please be sure to keep your eyes open; I have a snakebite kit in my backpack, and will be carrying a hiking stick with me - recommend you consider doing the same....

My first hike meet-up and I am so glad I went! Met some really nice people, including Grace, our Leader. The Serrano Cow trail was beautiful, and I never knew such a scenic trail with sprawling majestic oaks existed so close to home.

Thanks to Grace for organizing this hike! Julie and I had such FUN! We were on the tail end of our group, but we could hear your "BIKE!" way down the trail so we always felt we were close enough behind. We plan to return to these trails earlier in the day so we can make it around the Sleepy Hollow loop, and we look forward to the next time!

So what happened to the group that was ahead of us but ended up behind us? Did they go off course intentionally or take a wrong turn? I was glad to see them heading out so they are okay and safe.
Pretty hike! Thanks for organizing it, grace!❤

Is this a difficult? It will be my first and I'm a little nervous. Are sneakers okay?

    April 15

    • Grace

Not difficult.. A little elevation gaing, but ups and downs ...sneakers are fine.... will be about 3-4 miles round trip =)

Anybody concerned about the mountain lion sightings? As I don't go as fast as you all and most of the time end up by myself I may have to re-think this.

    April 1

    • Grace

It's a legitimate concern. ..they caught and killed one recently; mountain lions usually hang out alone in their territory, so I'm hoping that was the only one in the area....
