The Ancestor Sweat Lodge will be at  Sacred Groves on Bainbridge.  RSVP yes ONLY after reading this event in its entirety. * Woman's Only Event *

Performing a lodge near the time when it is said, the veil is the thinnest, will be a powerful …. In this Ancestor Sweat Lodge, we will work on becoming hollow bones between the Spirit world, the fire, and the lodge. I will open the way for you to speak with, and feed your Ancestor Spirits, and all of our relations in the Ancestor realms. There will be time to express humor, to cry, to heal, to laugh, and to show joy but he most part of the sweat lodge should be experienced seriously.  The lodge makes us realize how pure, innocent, and restored we can be after we exit and experience a new birth, born anew into our sacred lives. There have been many dreams, visions, and medicine teachings prepared for this lodge.  I have found many times that right before the sweat lodge I will go into the lodge, and the spirits or creator will send me in a new direction for the ceremony.  The spirits and the creator know the hearts, the spirits and souls of the women who will be entering the lodge.  The creator knows what each person needs before she enters the lodge.  This is why the spirits and creator sometimes changes the focus and direction of the lodge.  This information is given to me, this is why change happens.  Some of my lodges are led by the spirit of an ancestor of a person in the lodge, or the spirit of the lodge itself.  Every step of the way is a sacred process where we only seek the highest divine happenings. Gentle, yet powerful… shall I count you in?

This is open to all women over 18 years of age, inside or outside the She Who Seeks Community and the Sunshine Grove.  This will be posted on the SWS site as well so you will not see all the attendees here.  This lodge will not have a limit set for now, however the interior lodge capacity is 15-22. Do you want to come but NOT be in the sweat lodge? Please do. We will be providing space outside for those who would enjoy melding with the lodge's work, yet be on the outside vs inside of the lodge.  You can hear us, we can hear you, you are included every step along the way.  It's a gentle, powerful way to attend lodge.

Carpooling is highly suggested so please email those that rsvp yes directly.  If you need a ride, please do NOT rsvp until you have a ride.

Preparation: We have a file in the 'more files' section above.  It tells you about the lodge and how to prepare. Every woman practices self-care.

I personally bring two towels, one to sit on in the lodge and one to dry off with after a quick wash. I also bring an extra bottle of mineral water to drink right after the lodge and a quick snack like a bananna etc. The potluck takes a bit of time to get going after the lodge due to getting dressed etc...

Women in Service: The women in service travel great distance, put in time preparing, and are in service to you all day.  it is a tradition that you bring a gift for the fire tenders, the door tender and for the water pourer... Ideas: Tobacco, a special stone, herbes, a poem, a feather, .. .... something special you want to pass on... nothing that you have to purchase ...just a gift of gratitude for them being in service to you while you are in the lodge.

In Service,

WoMN

More About Preparations For The Day

Presented as written from Sacred Groves. When you come into the sweatlodge, you will be bringing with you, your four sacred bodies (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) that are reflected in the four sacred directions of the ancient medicine wheel.  It is important for you to begin ahead of time to thoughtfully/prayerfully prepare each of these bodies.  You are each responsible for choosing/creating what that preparation looks like.  For the physical body, it could mean altering your regular eating/drinking habits for some days prior to the lodge.  If you use sugar, tobacco, alcohol or recreational drugs, it would be best to clear your system of these the day of the sweatlodge.  On the emotional side, you might reflect on what feelings, resentments, and patterns you are holding onto that no longer serve your life, and open to releasing them yet know these are not counseling sessions.  In the mental realm, you might choose a practice that empties your mind, and opens it up to receiving new insights and understandings that may be "beyond thought".  In the spiritual realm you might take time to receive and articulate guidance from the grandmothers.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
