the fire outlook

the fire outlook is on the very right peak or butte

this hike is open to all who are camping with me at lakes basin, this is too far for a drive up and back from the bay area.

Meeting time 815 at the group campsite,

Difficulty, this will be a fairly strenous hike depending on your hiking level

The hike starts near the lower sardines Lakes.

After the hike there will be an optional swim at nearby sand pond.

I have done the hike last labour day weekend, here is the everytrail link

Description from summint post about the buttes

Trail conditions,

**TRAIL CONDITIONS, WHAT TO EXPECT*** IMPORTANT NOTES*

THE TRAILS HAVE SOME STEEP UP AND DOWN SECTIONS***some steep sections are slippery, good footwear are a must, Hiking poles can help

part of this trail is pretty rocky,

Stairs to the top of outlook are not for everyone, you can choose to stay at the base,

Water,

bring plenty of water,

Don't forget lunch, snacks etc, whatever you usually bring on these types of hikes.

Optional swim at sand pond after the hike,

this is a about half a mile from the trailhead, we will drive there, whoever is up for it.***you may choose to drive straight back to the campsite if you like**** if you carpool from the campsite to lower sardines lake, arrange carpool accordingly

some of us may stay a little longer at Sand Pond, and throw a few things on the BBQ, ***(you bring your own meat, charcoal,  etc, and a  cooler)***

Important note about the BBQ, I do not remember if there are any BBQ's or not, I will check on Friday when I drive up, and we will know before we start the hike on Sunday, (if we don't have BBQs at the lake, you will have to cook the meat etc, over a campfire or pan etc. at the campsite.

Make sure to arrange carpools from the campsite to lower sardines lake accordingly, if you want to swim or not after the hike, and BBQ as well. just keep that in mind,
