I would like to organize another Geocaching hike, I was thinking about Calero County park,-121.767998&spn=0.111616,0.055103&hq=calero+county+park&radius=15000&t=m&z=13

the park has a high density of caches like almost every 0.2 miles on some trails

 Route planned,

Park map link,%20Department%20of%20(DEP)%2Fattachments%2FCaleroOSAGuideMap.pdf

Cerritos Trail

Pena Trail

right on Javelina Loop

left on cottle trail

peak trail

right on bald peak trail ( or optional keep going left and cut it shorter)

longwall canyon

cata mount trail ( or optional to shorten serpentine loop up left)

Bald peak right

canada del oro

Pena and cerritos trail back to parking.

look up this cache, open up the map and you can see them, GC1Z8J0

We can to somewhere between 40 and 60 caches, depending on how long it takes to find them, and if we go the entire distance I have in mind, there is a shortcut option and if time runs out we can stop caching and just hike out.

***I am open to other park options.****

we can discuss other options

We had a great time on the shorter route. 5 miles, 17 caches and 2 dnf. Thanks to Chris for setting up the hiking/caching meetup!

Chris an I persisted and had a great day. 13 miles, 3,350 gain and a whole bunch of caches, including a really creative and great one that at first I thought was a coconut. pics to come

I don't geocache but like to follow the hike if that is ok. Otherwise I will go up solo and see if maybe I'll run in to this group on the trail. Have fun.

I just saw this and will be out of town this weekend. I'm an avid geocacher (found 4000 geocaches) and would love to meet some more people who want to geocache in the area! Keep me in the loop about future geocaching adventures! I'd be willing to plan some!

I will stop by in the morning at the clero parking lot to see you regarding Death Valley. :) and may see you guys on the trail since I am hiking in the neighboring park on purpose to crash in your hike. ;)

Hiking and Geocaching, two of my favorites! Never been to this park before, so any pointers on where to park/meet are appreciated.

Calero is good! Peter and I haven't found very many there yet and there's plenty to be had - especially since WERDAVE has been about!
