Parking (snow park permit) $5 can be bought on line for extra fee or at some vendor location around the bay area as well, link posted at the end of the write up

snow level is low, about 8-14 inch at 8500 feet, ***bring your regular hiking shoes as well, just in case there is not enough snow****

Parking is on the right side of hwy 88, you should see the sign Carson Pass, and a building on the right as well.

The hike starts at around 8500 feet and goes to about 9400-

there is no avalanche danger on this route up to winnecmucca lake and round top overlook

You can buy one local, on the way or print one out (for 1.95 extra), if you decide to buy one along the route, like Kirkwood make sure to allow some extra time and call a day ahead to make sure they still have inventory.
