Once the Rsvp is open you have to add to the waitlist and answer the question which comes up. I will add you in as long as the question has been answered and there is still room.

*Hiking Speed** usually averages around 3-4 mph, be prepared for that.

* There will be plenty of uphill and downhill,  steep, stairs etc....on this hike

This route has some new areas for me and I may have to take a look at the map, find the route,

We are going up / down 3 pretty staircases of the City and will see some of the Hearts place in the City a few years ago, a couple of them are at Union Sqaure and at least one more at the Lyons street stairs.

Planned Route

Meet at pier 7, the wooden pier with lots of benches and lamps, hike along Embarcadero , take greenwich street, head up the stairs to coit tower, south on telegraph hill, down the filbert stairs, back to embarcadero, walk through fishermans wharf, fort mason, along marina, turn left towards exploratorium, go up lyons street and steps, down lovers lane, (possible side trip to presidio chapel) ecology trail to inspiration point, down to mountain lake, immigrant point overlook, battery mc kinnon..., pet sematary (if I find the correct road) crissy field, back via marina, fort mason, up hyde street, down lombard street, up filbert street, continue on hyde street, left on washington, short visit at the cable car barn (if you haven't been there, you will see how it all happens with the cable cars, the motors for the cables are there and the cables go out from there), up mason street, left on california, down powell to union square the end point of the hike, BART will be close by.

Important things to know

It will be your resposibility to keep up with the group and pay attention where we are going. We will be going through areas with high foot traffic and it is almost impossible to keep track of everyone in that area, I will do my best though,

**** we will be using sidewalks, trails, maybe alongside a road,

you have to watch out for traffic,**cars** bicycles... etc.***

***bring $ 2 in cash in case you decide to bail out and catch a bus, streetcar, etc.

***bring a map if you are not familiar with the city, in case you get separated, you can always catch a bus, streetcar etc, or retreat your steps .

waiver (I bring a copy / sign in sheet

Parking, I have not recommendations, I recommend BART, Cal train etc.

Parking can be expensive.

some of you know that I am into geocaching, I will look for a few, you may have to wait for me at times for a few minutes.

Weather, we are talking City, expect the worst, **foggy , chilly, drizzle,  windy....** and hope for the best , maybe some sun , dress accordingly.

Meeting point I will have a green back pack and most likely a blue t shirt and shorts on.

At the start of Pier***7****, just keep walking towards fishermens wharf from the ferry building, most buildings have a pier number on them. Pier 7 is a long pier with a wooden walkway, lots of lamp posts and benches further out on the pier. the link below should give you the google street view of it.,-122.396877&spn=0.001664,0.002151&z=19&vpsrc=6&layer=c&cbll=37.79862,-122.396943&panoid=n8C7isVBJp6z2RCxamHSeg&cbp=12,50.78,,1,1.9

Very capably planned and executed: thanks, Chris J. We maintained a good brisk pace but enjoyed the nicely spaced break times too. New features, panoramas and vistas at every turn: San Francisco at its best, including hidden stairways, the storied telegraph hill parrots and the Presidio's quirky Pet Cemetary.

One of the most enjoyable city hike I have ever done. The stairs, gardens, hills, gorgeous weather and the strong hikers and leader made this super fun

Was there a question because I do not remember answering one - although I may have ... but I signed up from my phone while on a hike so I may have missed it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
