This is the hike I am planning on doing instead of corkscrew peak, weather permitting

Road to Kilns has been recently graded, no high clearance needed, most cars should be able to handle the  1-2 miles now,

Start Time 8am (from the campground)

Distance 9 miles Elevation gain 2300 feet

Difficulty Advanced (due to hiking at[masked] feet)

Important things you need to know[/b] ** hike will be at[masked] feet elev. (some ppl get elev. sickness)

** there is a trail, but could be rough in some areas, rocky, ** some steep sections ** maybe some snow, a lot of snow will cancell this hike

*** expect chilly temperatures, 2  years ago  on telescope it was cold and windy at times

temp at the top of wildrose was 45 degrees, trailhead was 33 degrees around 4 when we finished the hike,

(of course 2 years ago we did have a little cold snap and it was colder as usual, just be prepared for cold

Don't forget the gloves, hat, some warm gear for this hike

Pics from 2 yrs ago

drive time to trailhead est. 60-75 minutes from camp. ** last miles to trailhead will be on dirt road, waiver ( I will bring a copy to sign to the hike) http://files.meetup.com/220424/Super_Fabulicious_waiver_sign-in.pdf

Hi Curtis, there is room for more on this hike, we are 5 at this time, we have 2 cars with enough clearance to drive the last 1-2 miles on the dirt road. I will do this hike as long as the weather is ok.
I have a waiting list on this hike, since I have a couple questions, to be answered once one rsvp's

This is not a one day trip it is all part of the camping weekend starting on Tuesday through Saturday, (some will leave Sunday)
there are some spots avail. for the camping trip, all posted on the meetup site, e mail me if you are interested in going.

Hi Chris, I'm new to Meetup. It seems that there are only 4 going to Wildrose Peak, yet there are no spots left. Is this due to transportation issues? Also, is this a one-day trip? Will the group be leaving from the Bay Area? Thanks!
