Note:The price you see of $20.00 is not the lesson price.  It is the minimum deposit price to reserve a spot.  To discourage cancellations, there is a stipulation of no refund on the deposit when cancelling.  It is hard for anyone to commit 3 weeks in advance so most of the RSVP's get filled up quickly the first 2 weeks. Cancellations cause empty spots that could have gone to someone who's been waiting and can't commit 3 weeks ahead.   Make every effort to not cancel by being certain you can make that date before booking.  Thanks for understanding.

PURPOSE OF MEET-UP:

The purpose of this meet up is to give individual attention to each member (wahines only) who desire to learn how to surf. One on one coaching in and out of the water. Any member that RSVP's will be the only one at that location for a lesson, unless it's summer with easier swells, there may be 2 girls.  Lessons are held at Bolsa Chica, San Onofre or Doheny State Beach, three of a few great spots in Southern California to learn how to surf. If you don't already have a board, I have a spare board that's good to learn on. I teach on longboards and you can eventually graduate to shortboard on your own, if you desire.

I decided to start this group because of the apparent need. I had started a Surfergirl Meet Up Club http://www.meetup.com/Surfergirl-SanO-Club/ and although the goal was to gather surfergirls from all over Southern California to surf SanO (San Onofre), this club turned up so many girls who desire to learn. The SanO club wasn't intended to teach. I love the enthusiasm, and I love to teach but not to teach for every meet up for that group. So to keep the SanO surfergirl club exclusively for surfing with experieneced girls, I started this new club just for teaching and refer to this site from that site if their intention is to learn, just to meet that need.

Please consider the time I will take to teach on the ground and in the water, which adds up considerably with each lesson and with so many girls. Every lesson can take anywhere up to 3 to 4 hours of my time that I will spend with you, SO IT IS FAIR TO ASK AND RECEIVE COMPENSATION. The beauty of it, is that it can be in barter or cash. Your donation would be appreciated. I call it "donation" because there is no set price.

I've been surfing over 25 years, and I find it is rewarding and satisfying to teach and see someone blossom as a surfergirl. You will know that you are in good hands when we are in the water.
