I know I can get up I have done so many other sports and still do,,, if I could just get over my fear. I made the common mistake of trying to have a boyfriend teach me ( now an ex,,) and though he's a good surfer he is not a good teacher,,, and now I have more fear.
no I have not served,,, I wake board and I grew up snow skiing & water skiing from the time I was 5 years old. I know they're different sports however it didn't take me long to get up wakeboarding,,, and now I can pop right up,,, though I've only been doing it for 3 years so I'm not good at going out over the wake.
I am actually a very strong swimmer
no this is my dilemma. I do put my wetsuit on and go boogie boarding on the inside,,, if the waves are small and the waters not moving too much,,,i.e. current, strong undertow, and those other things I can't forget what they're called but I know they're the worst of it all. long story short I almost drowned when I was 16 at Morro Bay my uncle saved me. when I relocated here my boyfriend told me he would show me the surf I followed him right out past the breakers and he got excited on the third wave because it was huge so he went to surf it in and of course I rode the way then too only because I was scared to be left out there alone,,, I figured I needed a few minutes. anyway,,, I don't know if there's anything you can do to help me. winter seasons almost over and I won't be going out to ride my dirt bike for a few months,,, I don't have a boat anymore and I need something to do. I sit on the rocks and I watch the surfers and it just tears me up because I know I would have so much fun
Hi,,, my name is Shauna. I am a 40 something year old very active sports minded female that is for the most part pretty coordinated and confident,,, except when it comes to the ocean waves,, which I'm scared of.
