Nov Fall Surf Trip 1 - Rincon Puerto Rico

  • November 20, 2013 · 8:00 AM

Puerto Rico has great surf in the fall, it's easy to get to by plane, and its fairly inexpensive.

This is one of Jared's favorite surf spots. Jared is planning to head out there the weekend before Thanksgiving week. He went there about 3 times this past year, and I think mostly at last minute. He knows some great places to stay and where all the good surf spots are.

If you are thinking you might want to head out to Puerto Rico with Jared, definitely post on the site and email him directly. This a semi-planned last-minute type of trip so that you can scope out surf conditions before committing, so this trip is for those who can be somewhat flexible or who have bosses who are!!

Jared normally stays at Casa Verde in Rincon. Here is a link to the hotel website. He says this is one of the best spots in Rincon and near all the breaks...

Make sure you guys surf `Surfers` one of the best spots and it is just by the airport.
I am planning on going back in March for a 10 days trip, if anyone is interested !!

Hey Thiago, if you give me the dates I will post the March trip so that people can RSVP and plan, etc. I have heard that surfer's beach is a great all around break and that the locals are a little more friendly and less territorial there than in Rincon.

Jet Blue flies from Orlando (MCO) direct to Aguadilla (BQN) but either has historically left very early or very late. Return flight has been mid-afternoon. Southwest (Airtran) flies TPA-SJU. American routes you TPA-MIA-SJU.
"Charlies" rent-a-car has some of the best rates from BQN, check their website. If you're bringing a board that won't fit inside the car then bring your own soft racks. Most rentals don't provide racks.

Hey everyone! We are starting to discuss weekends people are available for this in November. I am available the 1st, or 14th of November. Do either of those weekends work for those of you interested in PR?

Hi everyone, looking forward to future trips. When does something like this get "official"? Is it safe to go ahead and book a flight for that weekend?

Sounds good, there are some deals to be made with Southwests nonstop flights to PR nowadays. I look forward to whenever it happens.

Yeah the only thing is I believe they fly out of San Juan. It's about a 2.5 hr trip to rincon. Aguadilla is another airport that is only about 30 min away from rincon, but it is a little more money. I have done the drive from San Juan to rincon twice.
