Let's head over to Cocoa Beach for another awesome weekend of surfing!
We will plan to meet Saturday morning at the Pier. You will need $10 to park, or you can feed the meters. We may surf some other spots Saturday afternoon or Sunday - a little further South. I will spend time with anyone new for an hour or so early Sat morning, but this weekend is mainly about surfing, not so much teaching. If you are brand new and want instruction, plan to come to one of our learn to surf days, where we spend the entire first part of the day in the water dedicated to teaching.
For those staying overnight, we will head over to the port or to Cocoa Village or Coconuts in the evening for dinner, drinks and/or live music.
I (Carol Ann) will be there between 8-8:30am Saturday. Look for the colorful gecko garden flag for our spot on the beach. In the water, look for my light blue Torq 8.0. For lodging - I recommend Econolodge (formerly Luna Sea Motel) - right on the main strip close to Ron Jons. They have very reasonable rates and the rooms are older but clean. 3185 N Atlantic Ave Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. Phone: (321) 783-0500.
Important - Call to make your reservations at least 2 weeks ahead - it's Spring Break time - and tell them you are Carol Ann's surfer friend - they will give you a good rate.
For wetsuit and board rentals and lessons, I recommend Bilt Surf Shop. Ron Jons also is good for cheap foamie board rentals. Bilt is a couple miles south of Ron Jons at 210 N Orlando Ave Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. Phone number (321) 868-8820. They open at 9am on Saturday. Ron Jon's is open 24 hours.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for great conditions. Look forward to seeing alot of you guys out there!!
