This walk takes in the lovely open space of both Wentworth Golf Course and Virginia Water Lake Park.
Among the lakeside features are the 100-foot (30 m) high Canadian totem pole commemorating the centenary of British Columbia in 1958
and a collection of ornamental Roman ruins, transported from the site of Leptis Magna (near modern-day Tripoli) in 1816 and installed at Virginia Water in 1826.
Optional short drive after walk for a relaxing tea/coffee and biscuits at Great Fosters Hotel
Special ramblers price of £5.25 ea. Built in the 1550s as a royal hunting lodge we'll also be given a little tour. (Great Fosters, Stroude Road, Egham, TW20 9UR)
I'm guessing roughly that we'll be back at the car park at 3.30pm to 4pm - Great Fosters Hotel is 4.5 miles away so only a few minutes drive.
