Worcester Park Vegans Meeting

Worcester Park Vegans' (|G+|FB) monthly social at Christ Church with St. Philip, a chance to have a chat with like-minded folk, tea and coffee provided!

We've use of the downstairs kitchen to make hot drinks (we're to bring our own, not use church supplies) but, as a Guide pack is downstairs at the same time, I get the room much cheaper.

Come along with anything you'd like to share - food, a recipe, a book you recommend, an idea, an event, a project you're involved with... let's put veganism on Worcester Park's map!

We have to vacate the church by 8:30 PM, but everyone is welcome to join us across the road at The North End Tavern.

This is just a little bit far for me to come for an evening meet up sadly, but members might like to know about my 'getting active for the animals' workshop. If a room can be provided for me, and a donation for my petrol, I am happy to give my time for free. These sessions are about three hours and give people time to reflect on ways to get active, and result in an action plan showing how easy it is to be useful and effective, in many ways large and small. Head me up on facebook if anyone is interested. The sessions are very enjoyable and give everyone a lift in confidence and hope too.

I'm hoping that Katy, owner of Village Pizza (http://www.villagepizzauk.com) who sell Vegan Society trademarked pizzas, will pop by. They have new vegan starters of potato scoops and Southern fried nuggets, along with dips, toppings and sandwich fillers. In the process of getting vegan desserts too, such as yoghurt and icecream :-)

I'm not very good at this Meetup announcing thing yet - I forgot last month, but we always meet up whether announced officially by forgetful me or not. Luckily I don't have to rely on remembering to announce it here, as people find us through other means (Worcester Park Life magazine clubs section, Facebook, Twitter and the Worcester Park Blog for example) and we also have our own leaflets which are displayed in the church Welcome Area.

Everyone and anyone who is interested, and able to travel to be with us, may come along, not necessary to be vegan (yet....).

Thanks Carol, I'm trying to ensure that Messup's announcing repeating events automagically... now I've figured how to do it! Annoying that Farcebook doesn't appear to have a repeat option.

That said, I'm mindful that 'spamming' members with lots of email is annoying, and the automagic option sadly sends out two reminder emails... and make that three if someone announces it manually beforehand! Grrr, Messup!
