Good morning to you all!
Happy Saturday, Happy Weekend! I hope you all had a good week.
Wow...912 people in our group now. How the heck did that happen? Hope to meet every one of you some day...but not all at the same time! Could you imagine 912 people at a movie event? We would take up the whole theater (how much popcorn would be needed?) ; or 912 people on a hike! Sheer madness!
Warm, welcoming, fun-loving people in this group. Come on out and join us. Don't be discouraged by the waiting lists. If you are interested in an event, put yourself on the list. People's plans change at the last minute. Just remember though...if you do put yourself on a list, you have to check your computer to see if you have moved into a spot. Otherwise, someone else on the list will miss out.
Here are some events coming our way:
Saturday - October 8, 2011 - Loantaka Park Hike - 12:00 noon - Trish, our hike leader, has offered to do this hike again for us this year. Thank you, Trish! This hike is more about distance (6-8 miles); we will be walking on paved trails through this beautiful park. I bet the fall colors will be fantastic. Sounds like a fun day!
Saturday - October 22, 2011 -Hacklebarney Park Hike - 11:00 a.m. - John, our hike leader, wanted to do this hike for us and I thought: "Why the heck not". We all love Hacklebarney Park. In the past, we have hiked half-way over rocks, along the river. This time...the hike will be a lot more challenging. We will be hiking along the whole length of the river; climbing over rocks and all! I was there a couple of weeks ago and this was so much fun. The river looked beautiful. Once again, this is a challenging hike for people who feel comfortable climbing over rocks for most of the hike. Hiking shoes are a must. Thanks, John for leading this hike for us. Can't
wait!
Thursday, December 15, 2011 - 7:30 p.m. - Holiday Party at Chimney Rock. This will be the best holiday party ever...pizza appetizers (just the way we like 'em); chicken marsala, sausage and peppers, eggplant parm, junior sundaes with sprinkles...yes I said sprinkles! LOL! Optional gift exchange and optional donations for St. Hubert's Animal Shelter. Cool, cool, cool! Can't wait for this fun event. Bring your holiday spirit...this is going to be fantastic! Celebrating the holidays with friends! YAY!
Food for Thought: Don't attach to one particular outcome.
How many times have you wanted something very badly. Whether it is a specific person to share a relationship; a particular job; some other situation. You obsess; you try to force things to make them happen. And what was the end result? You didn't get what you wanted, did you? You know why? It's that Law of Paradoxical Intent coming into play. The more you try to force things to make them happen, the more you push them away! You should never try to attach yourself to one particular outcome. There is more than one person in the world with whom you can share a good relationship; there is more than one job in the world which will make you feel successful and good about yourself. Happiness is everywhere; you just have to keep an open mind. Just say to yourself that
you want to be happy, and then let it go. Live your life, stay positive and you might be surprised what will come your way! Believe in the possibility!
Take care, stay safe and be well.
