Good morning to you all!
Happy Saturday and Happy December! I hope you had a nice week!
The holiday season is upon us. I hope that you take a moment or two to relax in between holiday shopping, visiting, baking and all that good stuff.
Awesome people in our group; everyone really likes us...that's a very good thing!
Here are a couple of events coming our way. Please note that there are waiting lists. If you are on a waiting list; hang in there and don't be discouraged. People do tend to back out at the last minute. If you are not able to attend, please change your rsvp so that others don't miss out. Please check the website of all the details.
Thursday - December 15, 2011 - Holiday Party at Chimney Rock Inn - 7:30 - 10:30 p.m.
Sunday, January 8, 2012 - Sunday Brunch at Stoney Brook Grille
Sunday, February 5, 2012 - Super Bowl Party at McCarthys (still working on the details).
Food For Thought: Positive Thinking and The Game of Life. Are you a winner or a loser?
We have all heard about positive thinking. What does it really mean? It means that we are in this game of life and we are going to be winners; not losers. We are going to put that smile on our faces, even when we don't feel like smiling. We are not going to let small, petty issues ruin our day. We will find the good in every single situation that falls our way. We are not going to focus on the things we don't have; we are grateful for so many things; that's what we will focus on. We won't let anyone put us down; we deserve to be treated with respect. We take care of ourselves and treat ourselves respectfully, the way we expect others to treat us. We will be giving, loving people who are always willing to reach out and help others whenever we can. We don't hang out with negative people who want to drag us down into their misery; we hang out with positive people who inspire us and encourage us. We are not a victim of our past; our past does not define us. We focus on the present moment and enjoy every second. We don't go back and revisit the past and second guess about what we should have done. We take the lesson that the past has taught us and we move forward. We learn that people are put into our lives for a reason; and that not everyone is meant to stay with us forever. We don't focus on one outcome to make us happy; we don't attach ourselves to one person and expect that person to make up for all the sadness of the past. We do not judge people; we accept them for just the way they are. We look forward to each day with the hope and promise that good things are coming our way; we just need to be patient. And we never, ever give up hope. The best is yet to come...just believe it and watch what happens.
Take care, stay safe and be well.
