Wild brewing - make your own hedgerow booze.

  • This location is shown only to members

On this course we will show you how to brew your own alcoholic drinks made from foraged ingredients.  Subjects covered will be hedgerow wines and beers, Mead and Cider and making as well as flavouring base spirits with hedgerow fruits. At the end of the course you should have a basic knowledge of the subject and be able to start to make your own homebrews.  We will therefore take you foraging for ingredients (showing you how to identify those ingredients) and the necessary equipment you will need.  There might even be a few of our own brews to taste.

You will need to wear good footwear (the woods can be a little muddy on occasion) and bring rain wear.

This session will take place in our 21 acre dedicated site near Horsham.

All of our team are all qualified Bushcraft instructors, first aid trained and have our own unique skills.

Please bring your own lunch and snacks. We will provide tea and coffee.

Due to the nature of the day and the activities, the session is open only to over 18's

If required, we will provide knives for your use, so please do NOT bring your own.

Very informative and practical. Two knowledgeable tutors who have a clear passion in the subject who gave a good run through on how to get started. Good to have the sample wines and meads as well!

Hi there, just ventured upon this Meet-Up Group for active Nature Lovers (?) A pastime I've missed for eaons.... Tomorrows' MU sounds good fun & I'd love to join in but I need a lift.... (from Brighton) Is anyone able to give me a ride? Naturally, I will contribute to the fuel costs and be very grateful.
With hope and best wishes to all,
    Karen

I'm really sorry, I can't make it tomorrow I@m just too exhausted to leave so early and a long journey.. been a hectic week and a homeless girl I took in has come back. So all in all I'm sadly going to have to forego this one. So sad. Hope I can make another bushcraft meet up soon. Thanks for those who offered me rides

I have a bit of a problem on Sunday 19th My car died a couple of days ago. It will take me 1.44 hours to get to Horsham.. and there's another change. Is it possible for anyone to pick me up? I am coming from Eastbourne, but pick up at Horsham? Otherwise I may have to cancel..as can't afford taxi!

Love to, but I'm alcohol free for October. It would be unbearable making all that hedgerow booze without so much asa drop. Count me in for next time

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
