Let's get together and see who's who!

If you look at the list of topics of "what we're about" it looks pretty heavy (or heady?). Consciousness, awakening, non-duality etc etc. My intention is not really half so grand.......just an opportunity for a few like-minded seekers and finders to meet up and enjoy the moment together, talk of books or teachers who have inspired us and smile at the follies of life as a human being on planet earth. My plan at the moment is for this to be just an informal social gathering, but if there is a call for a more 'conventional' practice-oriented meeting or satsang then I'm open to those possibilities. I have suggested meeting at the Peacock Inn as it's a very pretty olde pub which will hopefully offer a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Have asked my friend John Abblet, member of the Forest Row nonduality cafe to join us this evening, hope that is ok. Simon

I'm as happy meeting during the day in a cafe as the evening in a pub. A thought. This might be helpful for Andrew in view of what he says about driving at night.

I understand your position regarding daytime meetings - even at weekends. We'll have to see if there's a way round this which suits everyone. I can't see myself being able to get to Uckfield in the evening unless I was being taken there and back. Also I don't live in Lewes, but in Eastbourne. Paul

This seems like a vote for daytime meetings to which I hereby add my own! Simon

    Dear Paul
Many thanks indeed for your consideration. After dark my wife, also dedicated to nonduality, is my chauffeur but she and I both feel Lewes is a bit far. Our local nonduality meeting is in Forest Row and all are welcome. It is the first Saturday of every month at the Brambletye Hotel (with car park). Usually we are six people and one dog. Starts at 10:30. If you have a daytime meeting I can manage that almost anywhere that there is parking. otherwise we may see you in Forest Row. If it is at the Peacock, as originally planned, then we will see you there.
    Simon.

As intimated in my email to members, I am currently looking into changing the venue for this Meetup to a pub in central Lewes in the hope that this will make it generally more accessible for most of the interested parties. I'm planning to check out 1 or 2 pubs in Lewes, and the parking situation, on Monday 19th and then make a decision following that. I will try to find somewhere suitably 'peaceful' and of course will email members to advise of the latest plan, so I hope that we can live with a little uncertainty in the meantime. Thanks to everyone for your expressions of interest and support for this group, and feel free to add your comments to this post re the venue or the format, including if you think we'd be better having a daytime meeting in a cafe rather than an evening one in a pub. Om Shanti Om, Ron/Jivan.
