The Intro to Permaculture Workshop Series will take place over 3 packed days -
Sat June 23rd, Sun June 24th and the following Saturday June 30th from 10am - 4:30 pm and will include potluck lunches together.
Fee for the course is $250 with a minimum of 10 people needed to hold the course. However !!! Every additional person who registers will lower the fee for the group, e.g., if 25 people register (course is limited to 25 people) everyone will get to pay $100 as part of the group rate.
RSVP is required with a $100 deposit to reserve your spot in the course. The remainder will be paid at the first day of the course.
This is the best deal around (21 hours of training) for those seeking to learn about permaculture and how to apply it in our urban setting !!

In addition to the course highlights below, we will be following this up with a couple of other workshops this Summer to deepen our ecological systems knowledge of our shared Bioregion and then we hope to offer a full fledged Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) course (72 hours) in the Fall. This Intro to Permaculture Series is intended to build a learning community here in Jersey City and is immediately useful for those who attend - you can apply it to your backyard or community garden project and is excellent preparation for the PDC course.

Julie Welch works at the Buckminster Fuller Institute in New York, she is currently designing a collaborative public programming series between the Cooper Union Institute for Sustainable Design and the Buckminster Fuller Institute. She is working as an ecological design consultant and is a co-author of a case study for an urban permaculture farm on city owned conservation land in Northampton, MA.
Julie teaches workshops and guest lectures around the Northeastern U.S. and is working on several community garden and edible landscape design projects. She holds an M.A. degree in sustainable landscape design and planning from the Conway School of Landscape Design.
