OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS !! and Sustainable JC is proud to present it to the community.

Our emerging partnership with ioby.org [ aka In Our Back Yards (way cool acronym!) ] is very exciting as we will now be able to structure some ongoing funding opportunities for neighborhood projects that represent the vision and values expressed in the recently published SJC Charter. This tangibly moves us along a trajectory of installing more community designed and led INNOVATIVE DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS (IDPs) across Jersey City.

Alongside of our Outreach & Education activities, Neighborhood Sustainability PLANNING is the path to realizing more IDPs so we have been very focused on bringing innovative PLANNING TOOLS to project teams who are collaborating to turn their neighborhoods into more sustainable places to live and work.

Primary Colors, our community project management platform and various Toolkits for getting starting and sharing resources and information are all out there to help, along with a supportive network of collaborators. NOW, with ioby's platform supporting our efforts, we feel we are REALLY providing a great foundation to advance our work in helping you to succeed.

ART HOUSE PRODUCTIONS & Sustainable JC know that THE ARTS ARE CENTRAL TO SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES EVERYWHERE !! THEY ARE EMBEDDED IN THE SOCIAL FABRIC AND FEED THE SOUL OF URBAN ENVIRONMENTS.

This particular initiative is a SHOUT OUT TO ECO-ARTISTS who are interested in helping to transform and remediate issues impacting OUR ENVIROMENTAL LANDSCAPE

IT IS ALSO A SHOUT OUT TO OTHER PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH THE ARTS COMMUNITY AND SJC in an effort to BRAID TOGETHER GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE & the ARTS into a series of imaginative and INNOVATIVE DEMONSTRATON PROJECTS !!!

Our collaboration on this project series will explore how community members from diverse backgrounds can design a project together that brings more Green Infrastructure and more PUBLIC ART installations to our Neighborhoods; we will target an initial crowd sourced funded project with a budget of $3000. and get behind both a traditional fundraising effort (door-to-door) AND an online, social media driven FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN to demonstrate how we can all succeed on a collaborative project of this nature.

Please join us for an evening of stimulating discussion !!

We're just getting started ~
