Fitchburg Public Library Green Thursdays: "The Price of Sand"

"The Price of Sand is a documentary about the frack sand mining boom in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Due to a rapid increase in demand, pure silica sand has become a valuable commodity, and mines are opening here at a rapid rate. A bonanza for a few lucky landowners, the new mines also promise jobs and economic stimulus for the small towns and rural areas nearby. But at what cost to the shared air and water of all the area residents?"

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
