NOFA Introduction to Homebrewing (Ticketed)

This is a TICKETED EVENT with limited space available. Please sign up at

Description : Have you ever wanted to make your own beer? With a little knowledge and a few pieces of equipment, you can! This workshop will introduce you to the fundamentals of home brewing so you can brew your own unique concoctions. You will learn how to transform the four basic ingredients in beer-- malt, hops, yeast and water--into a fresh, delicious beer you can proudly share with your friends and family. This hands-on workshop will show you how to get started by going through the brewing process step by step. As we brew, we’ll discuss different styles of beer, bottling techniques, growing hops, using adjuncts and alternate ingredients, and proper home storage of your beer. The brewer will also bring some home brew samples for tasting. Bring a growler and air lock to bring home a bit of the day’s brew.

Cost: $25 NOFA Members $31 Non-members

Instructor : Mike Umbrell has been home brewing for over 15 years. He has graduated to making all-grain batches on his driveway using own his home-grown hops. An engineer by trade, he would one day love to work in a larger scale brewery—just one that is not too big. When not brewing, he can be found riding his bike around eastern Massachusetts.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
