Please join us to play with earth! In this work-party you will assist with building a decorative wood-fired cob oven and heated bench, in a dragon design using local natural and/or recycled materials. Cob is an ancient natural building material made from clay and sand, and they have natural ability to hold great amounts of heat (thermal mass).
“Cob”, an ancient natural building material made from clay and sand naturally holds heat making it an obvious choice for a wood-fired oven.
Workshop participants will:

- Insulate the oven using glass bottles, straw, and clay
- Identify suitable soil for making cob
- Mix cob and use it to build the oven dome with an artistic expression.
