Greetings all. I am interested in helping with the GMO labeling initiative but I live in Buena Vista and will unfortunately be unable to make this meeting. It sounds like there are various efforts going on around the state and I haven't seen any one website designed specifically around getting legislation passed in Colorado. It seems to me this might be a good first step so that we can get all the people working toward this on the same page... If there is such a site, please direct me to it as I couldn't find one. I am willing to lend my services and build a site if that seems like a good idea to the group. I checked and coloradorighttoknow.com is available. I can build in Wordpress, so it can be set up to have multiple administrators etc... I can set up a forum and perhaps we can get those who are working on the ballot language to post their working document. Lots of possibilities, but I think the sooner this gets done, the less doubling of efforts there will be around the state.

Dan, just coming back from meetup. We would love for you to develop a website: "Right to know Colorado" which would be congruent with our facebook page. Please contact Tryna Cooper (Organizer on this site) to receive funding to purchase the domain name. Word Press is a great idea as well as we may start a community forum, blog posts, etc. Blessings!

I'll see if gmofreecolorado.org wants any help implementing these functionalities into their site.

Hello Dan! Thanks for offering your contributions! We were discussing that we would love to have a single website to go to and would really appreciate it if you would build one. Thank you!

Thanks Gina, I looked but couldn't find a website?

There is a website at www.gmofreecolorado.org... definitely wouldn't want to double up since they already have one. The less duplication of efforts the better. I will fill out the contact form and see if they would want any help. The faster all the groups are communicating under one format/forum/banner the better in my mind. I'll keep you posted. Has anyone from this group been in communication with the other group (s)?

Feketa I have completed the primary research that you assigned me and will have a about a 15 min presentation on Thursday if time allows. I will bring some copies of the data to hand out. Please let me know the potential quantity. I will be making copies Thursday in the AM < 9:30 A.M. but I will not be back home until after the meeting. I gues that means a guess sooner than later will be better.

I also met with a rep from a Coop that has built and is expanding an Aqua-Ponic site outside of Vegas, Solar and wind powered, they are suppling exclusive restaurants with non GMO products for Japanese and European cliental. I will keep you advised.

Thanks Dan for the suggestions. I know we have people working on the latter and will see the results this Thursday. I will post the info under the appropriate forum column that you may access from this meetup site. Thanks:)

I just spoke with Marie Weller, who is the Colorado State rep with the National Coalition of States working toward a mandatory labeling requirement for GMOs. She said 2013 will not work because only issues involving TABOR are allowed in odd numbered years: http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite?c=Page&cid=1200536135670&pagename=CGA-LegislativeCouncil%2FCLCLayout

Thanks for letting us know Bonnie, this will be good though in the sense that we can build it over the next year to make it stronger
