Welcome!

This group is about assisting in the movement of building an inclusive green economy for all in the urban and inner city community. We will explore ways to share social and environmental consciousness in South Dallas communities. We will also explore options for development of programs that empower communities to live greener, healthier, and conscious urban lives.

In addition to conscious living, social change, and possitive community growth, we will look at developing or assisting in efforts that support the social, economic, and political implications of what is being branded as a "Green Collar Job".

Van Jones defines a green-collar job in his book The Green Collar Economy, as a “family-supporting, career-track job that directly contributes to preserving or enhancing environmental quality,” but is also part of what he calls the “one solution [to] fix our two biggest problems” – namely, poverty and our environmental crisis.
