I have always been interested in preserving our natural environment, and with the earth's resources being depleted and pollution building, I want to do my part to help minimize the impact to our planet to the benefit of all.
My office environment is set-up to minimize the use of paper products. At home I strive to "buy local" and try to avoid buying packaged goods. I recycle as much as possible and try to minimize my carbon imprint. I encourage others to do the same.
With the world's population increasing at an alarming rate, I wonder how we can keep up with minimizing pollution and resource depletion when the planet is already bursting at the seams. Nonetheless, we must keep doing our best to win the battle!
It's 2011, the Year of the Rabbit, and our Meetup group is growing in leaps and bounds!
Hi Brian, Welcome you to join Evergreen Toastmasters. I would like to invite you joining me this Tuesday meeting from 7-9pm at 1447 Barclay Street. Basement of Barclay Manor (enter from rear). It's a perfect cozy place to warm up in friendly and supportive environment!
Welcome to the HSP meetup. I'm with you - really dislike noisy restaurants and cannot stand nightclubs. Our super perceptiveness does help things balance out though eh?
Hope to meet you in person at one of the meetups.
I am writing to share some information about a movie screening, March 20, 2011 that you and your members might be interested in as a meetup. For The Next Seven Generations is a documentary about 13 grandmothers/elders working to keep respect for and care of our planet and each other an "absolute must" priority More information, a trailer and group discount ticket access are available at http://7generations.networthy.ca/ To creating balance, Monica
Welcome, Brian! And thank you for joining - you will have to tell us more about Callings...
Brian, yesterday's meeting at the Light House was so cool that I was left thinking about it all day. Excellent group, I would like to stay in touch with all. did you started a meetup group for the Tuesday meetings at the Light House already? Have they all signed in? How can I contact them again, we need a wall to post messages and greetings, if meetup is a cost you don't want to run into, why not in facebook?
Good stuff Brian!
I am glad to hear about this group and its meetings happening at the Light House Sustainability C. There are excellent resources there and I am sure we will be able to bring more ideas and projects into the drafting table. I will do my best to wake up early and get there on time to start the day with a cup of grinded coffee beans and a small talk on sustainability.
Welcome to the group Brian!
Sounds great that you have hosted a group before. It would be valuable to us to hear about your experience. Let me know your availability, we could set up a new meetup according to your scedule.
There is a salad bar in coal harbour where you can have coffee, sandwich, soup or salad the prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere very inviting with great service. Their address is 560 Bute street, Vancouver , and their phone number is [masked]. I thought it would be a great place for meeting as its also central.
