An eclectic group of couples or singles, any age is welcome, who share a love of casual bike rides on the new Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville. The open minded part of the name is because I get tired of being surrounded by ultra conservatives who listen to Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck, and I'd like to meet more open minded people to be friends with. Bike rides can be a few people or larger groups, and can even be during the week for those of us with flexible schedules. As friendships grow, we can include dinners out, card game nights and the occasional pool party for members that want them. (Wine is always a welcome addition to the non-biking events.) The Swamp Rabbit Trail is 14 miles of paved former railroad bed, which makes for smooth riding with no steep hills. It runs from Greenville Tech to just North of Travelers Rest. (The middle section opens May 7th.) We'll have short rides for beginners, and longer rides for those who want them. If you like relaxing bike rides in a beautiful setting with like minded people, Swamp R.O.M.P. is for you! The plan is to have weekly rides, with the schedule varying according to peoples availability. Pick a date that works for you, and we'll try to schedule a ride.
