Monthly Meeting

SPEAKER/JUDGE: Our guest speaker for this month is Dominique Giner-Chaponot.

Dominique Chaponot is an artist-photographer who resides in Douglasville GA. She comes from a family that loves Art. Any kind of Art. Her father was a Saxophonist, her Grandparents won an Award in a dance contest in Spain (tango and valse), her cousin is a jazz singer in Paris and her aunt is a Painter in Cannes (France). Her interest in the Arts was further cultivated when Dominique entered a drawing contest and won a free art lesson at the "ARTS ET METIERS"in Paris. As a student, she went to the "LOUVRE" every month. She was especially interested in a painting that she saw there. She began taking photos for fun at the age of 15 and became more serious about photography in her thirties when her husband gave her a computer and introduced her to a software bundle. She fell in love with that because she realized she could paint with her photographs, (imagination is the limit). Today she still enjoys working with digital equipment plus her background has given her a fresh new vision in photography. She has published a book (The New World of Photography: The Digital Composite Image) detailing her process for creating composite images and can be bought at Amazon or on her website.

It was a very good presentation. Dominique showed how easy it is to combine images and gave some tips on how to present them for a beautiful artistic impression

This sounds like a wonderful meeting. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town and can't attend.
