This is a reminder that Thursday evening (March 13th) the Sweetwater Camera Club will be holding its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in Room 1 of the Douglasville Conference Center, 6700 Church Street, Douglasville, GA 30135. Doors open at 6:30.
President Hoke Smith will start the meeting and review pertinent information.
Janet Newton and Stella Spyrou will present and discuss with members how to prepare for the Club's exhibit at the Dog River library later this year.
Stella's work is currently exhibited at the Dog River Library. Please visit and view her work prior to March 26th.
David Akoubian will be our guest speaker and will be presenting on the use of HDR to create natural nature images.
David's image posted above is a perfect example of what he will talk about in his presentation.
David says, "When I envisioned this image in my mind I wanted a strong foreground showing off the great patterns in the rock contrasting the warm light on the completely different background. My mind can see these things, unfortunately my camera can’t. I will discuss the tools that are available to the nature photographer starting with the camera, lens, tripod and continuing the process through the software completion of the image. All the elements of the image are needed to complete it, so you have to find out how to be able to capture all of those elements in order to have a successful image."
Remember the contest theme for this month is "Love" - An image that demonstrates an emotion of “LOVE”.
Image Review of the contest entries and judging by David Akoubian will follow his presentation.
